For Sale By Owner Part 6: The Backyard Oasis & A Driveway With A View

Selling your home without an agent can be done.  It does take a significant amount of time and knowledge of the industry to do it, so check out these tips for selling your home before you do anything else.

33.  The Backyard Oasis:  Remove Clutter & Unnecessary Items

The key is to showcase the maximum amount of room.  Fill in any holes, pick up doggy bombs, trim back bushes & trees, and clear objects that can be tripped over, stepped in or hide snakes.

34.  The Backyard Oasis: Look Like you Love There

Set up a sitting area around a fire pit or keep a clean patio table and chairs to accompany a barbecue grill.

35.  The Backyard Oasis: Remove Large Items Such As Trampolines

Not only does this maximize space, it also removes the safety risk.

36.  The Backyard Oasis: Secure The Pool

Put pool cleaning tools and supplies in a secure storage area.  Close and lock the pool fence/gate so the buyer or the buyer's agent does not fall in the pool.

37.  A Driveway With A View:  Remove Clutter And Clean The Driveway

If you have an in ground basketball goal, make sure that it is in good repair.  If it is not, then remove it before any showings.  Also, if it is in the ground, it is considered real property and part of the sale.

Put away bikes, toys, and extra children.  These tend to be obtrusive and dangerous.

Pressure wash the driveway if needed.
